About METF

The Midwest Equine Trail Foundation (METF) was formed by members of the Indiana Trail Riders Association (ITRA) in 2014 to create more funding opportunities to improve trails in Indiana and to help educate the public about the value of trail riding for the state.  METF funds have been used to purchase equipment that can be used on any trail-related project supported by METF.  METF actively seeks out projects that will enhance trail riding in Indiana and sources of funding through grants and donations. METF helps sponsors write grants to fund trail projects. METF can provide seed money to start your organization's fund-raising drive, and can provide a financial base to make your project eligible for grants that require matching funds. METF's 501c3 status makes contributors' gifts tax deductible in most cases.

METF was established as a 501c3 tax deductible charitable organization to encourage donations. Donors who provide funding or donate equipment may be able to take tax deductions after conferring with their tax advisor. METF is based in Indiana but it can support projects around the Midwest.

Because METF is staffed entirely by volunteers, has no brick and mortar facilities to maintain, and has a minimal operational budget, we assess no overhead costs on gifts or grants. You can be confident that your contribution METF is going toward the work you want to support.
